IRES4Ukraine

Intelligent Resilient & Sustainable Energy Supply for Ukraine

IRES4Ukraine focuses on intelligent resilient operating strategies based on intEMT® for optimized energy supply during grid reconstruction and for grid support. Energy management for decentralized supply structures in crisis areas is optimized to support critical infrastructure during and after crises.

Tailored energy system planning for practical on-site solutions

Goal: Supply local people and public institutions affected by infrastructure damage with electricity and heat.

  • Initial conditions for resilient energy supply differ significantly from site to site – every region, every building, every available component is different:
    • Off the shelf solutions do not work in this context.
    • What is needed is an individual combination of electricity, heat, and storage systems that operate reliably together.
  • This is why tailored, intelligent energy systems are required.

→ Enable resilient microgrids and small combined energy plants that can reliably provide electricity and heat from renewable sources – even under crisis conditions.

What we offer based on intEMT®

  • A customizable IRES4Ukraine desktop application for simulating the behavior of your energy system
    • All data remains on your computer—no internet connection required
    • Systematically test different scenarios to determine the optimal configuration for your energy system
    • Test the resilience of your energy system with various blackout scenarios
    • View your data and simulation results interactively
  • Personalized consulting tailored to your energy system requirements
    • We analyze your energy system for you and provide scientifically sound recommendations for optimizing your current system or for future investments
    • We offer guidance and professional support for your own simulations using the desktop application

Who is IRES4Ukraine for?

  • Municipalities and regions with damaged energy infrastructure
  • Critical facilities (hospitals, schools, public authorities)
  • Industrial companies with unreliable power supply
  • Energy utilities, suppliers and grid operators

Approach in IRES4Ukraine

IRES4Ukraine provides tailored energy system planning for practical on-site solutions:

  • Simulation and digital twin: understanding situations, testing options, reducing risks
  • Dimensioning and planning: selecting suitable components – technically and economically
  • Optimized operating strategies: controlling energy intelligently instead of wasting it
  • Scenario-based system design: robust against crises, outages, weather events, and demand fluctuations
